Villa Medolago is a simple and solid looking construction, a building that does not deny its vernacular origins but rather convey into another strong suit. Well-defined volumes and fine materials distinguish it from the surrounding houses; the comfort offered by indoor and outdoor living areas make it a residence that fully satisfies the ultimate goal of architecture: inhabit.

A well-manicured pathway leads us to a spacious veranda that extends around two sides of the house, offering shelter to numerous rest and relaxation areas; beyond the porch, the large garden visually expands the property. The principal rooms of the villa are situated mainly on the ground floor:  a large living area combined with the kitchen, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. On the attic floor, there is a comfortable and bright multipurpose room with its own bathroom; on the other hand, the lower floor groups all service areas and the garage.

The style of the house is classic, dominated by light colours in shades of beige and ivory white. The wooden slatted floor gives a sense of continuity that expands the environment, giving it warmth and harmony. The focus of the living area is certainly represented by the custom-made kitchen, manufactured by Carminati’s in-house carpentry services. The materials used blend perfectly with the rest of the furniture: columns and wall units are matt lacquered white while the shelves, built-in sink and upstand edge are made of glossy laminam featuring Calacatta marble effect.

The aesthetic taste of the owners furthermore extends to the choice of windows, also white in color with rounded edges. Opening types have been planned to provide the greatest possible amount of light, with respect to the available wall surface. The details and accessories present, such as retractable mosquito nets, motorized sunshades and flush to the wall installation, make these windows even more personalized and “tailor made” to match perfectly the needs of the inhabitants.

Skyline Classic collection of windows and doors was chosen for Villa Medolago which, while maintaining the narrow frame typical of the Skyline Minimal Frames line, rounds the profile making it suitable for environments featuring more traditional or eclectic style. The squared edges leave room for a soft, nuanced curve, which makes the window elegant and refined.

The timber used is fir, white lacquer finish RAL 9010; on the outside, there is an aluminium cladding featuring exactly the same color as the wood, so that the two materials optically blend into one single element. The metallic cladding on the outside provide the system with a resistance designed to ensure protection from all weather conditions.

The beauty of this product is given by the combination of all details and their finishes. Living area lift and slide doors are endowed with Linea Prestigio handles featuring satin nickel finish; silver-gray is also the finishing of the retractable mosquito net pull ring, glass spacer, end caps and rails of the sliding doors and wide floor threshold. Mosquito net is fully integrated into the window side frame and covered with the wooden profile of the matching color, thus achieving a concealed effect. Motorized sunscreen with white slats completes this window system equipped with every comfort.

For bedrooms and bathrooms hinged opening was preferred, enhanced in its essentiality by the flush with the wall installation, without trims. In this case, mosquito nets are of the manual sliding type and can be moved by means of a handy black cord located on the window side. Discreet gray net fabric represents a valid and essential ally for all the houses that are located in the countryside and beyond.
